Every year, SHPE sends teams to the National Science Bowl competition, where teams compete with their peers across the United States.

The winning teams attended the National Science Bowl in D.C. (April 29 to May 4). At nationals, Sierra Science Middle School advanced to double elimination rounds. Palmetto High School won 1st place in its Division Team Challenge – a challenge that asked them to create various types of electrical circuits. They also won 3rd place in the team scavenger hunt.
