Noche de Ciencias
Noches de Ciencias –Science Nights – is a national initiative established in 2008 by the SHPE Foundation to promote knowledge and interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) among the Hispanic community. SHPE professional and student chapters conduct Noches de Ciencias around the country. Each event is usually about 3 hours and includes at least two hands-on STEM activities for students, a college presentation for students, and two bilingual parent workshops on college options and financial aid. Last year alone over 6,200 students, parents, teachers and volunteers participated in Noche de Ciencias across the country.
The goal of Noches de Ciencias is to inform K-12 students and their families about STEM education and college options through interactive workshops and activities.
