SHPE Conference

These program initiatives are meant to engage Hispanic students throughout the STEM pathway from middle school to graduate school. Special programs for K-12 teachers and higher education administrators are also held. The programs include:
Pre-College Symposia for middle school and high school students
Graduate Institute for masters and doctoral students
GRE/GRAD Lab for aspiring graduate students (i.e. current undergraduate students)
Deans' Summit for Hispanic deans and senior leadership leading science, math, and engineering colleges at 2-year and 4-year higher education institutions
Teacher Program for middle school and high school teachers working in predominantly high Hispanic serving schools and communities
Design Competition for Hispanic undergraduate students to design a working enginering artifact relevant to competition theme and write a technical paper
Academic Olympiad for Hispanic undergraduate students to compete in both a Written Exam model after the EIT examination and an oral competition modeled after the Jeopardy game show
Recognition Awards for K-12 Educator of the Year, Higher Education Educator of the Year, Graduate Award, and Academic Excellence & Leadership Award for high school students
